More About Coach Aj
I have worked as a coach at a small and large college, in the private sector, and currently at a high school in the Kansas City area. I am a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
I was a four-time football team captain at Baker University, where I helped our team to five conference championships and a national championship appearance. I was also named all-conference at running back and tight end. In addition to my athletic achievements, I was also an academic all-American while studying biochemistry. After college, I briefly played professionally as a fullback in Major League Football.
A session with me will depend on the level and needs of the athlete. There will always be a dynamic warm up followed by a speed and/or strength training session. A speed session will include drills for sprinting or change of direction work and agility. Lifting sessions are usually full body that will hammer technique, explosive strength and maximal strength.
I am a strong believer in positive reinforcement and I use a variety of coaching techniques to help athletes improve their skills and confidence. I am also a strong advocate for injury prevention and I work with athletes to develop safe and effective training programs.
