More About Coach Andrew

I have experience in all facets of the sport of running. As a coach, I have worked with Middle School to Collegiate athletes, volunteered as a high school coach for both Track & Field and Cross Country, and been a personal trainer at several different fitness centers. I have experience in organizing running events, founding running groups, leading large training programs, and working in specialty retail. I am passionate about giving back to the sport that has given him so much.

I hold a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science Education and a Masters Degree in Sports Management from The Ohio State University. In addition, I am a USATF Level 1 Certified Coach, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED certified.

I have been running competitively for over 25 years. I started with Cross Country, Track & Field in Middle School and have kept with it ever since. Over the years, I added in swimming, cycling, and triathlons, but I have always come back to running as the primary pursuit.

From 2011 to present, I have been focused on ultramarathon running. I have completed six out of eight 100-mile runs attempted and over 30 other ultramarathon distance events.

I provide coaching for individuals looking to start up running or improve their current performance. His coaching is for all ages, ability levels, and goals.

I offer in-person sessions to focus on running form, speed and agility, endurance, and strength. All in-person training sessions are based on fundamental training principles and will incorporate proper warm-ups and cool-downs for every athlete. My main focus in everything is on proper form to improve efficiency and performance while decreasing the risk for injury. I available for in-person training sessions for local (Modesto, Turlock, and Manteca) residents. I am willing to travel further, if necessary, at adjusted rates from what is shown on CoachUp and my website.

I offer custom training plans for those looking to train for a running race of any distance. These plans are based on your personal athlete profile. Training plans will help you to establish proper training/racing paces and fundamental training principles while giving you a sense of routine and purpose to your training. All custom training plans are posted to TrainingPeaks, which gives you added value services in terms of workout analytics and a better sense of fitness, fatigue, and race readiness.

I want to make sure you train smart. Therefore, all of my coaching options seek to provide a dynamic and progressive environment to improve fitness levels, reduce the risk of injury, and increase your enjoyment for the sport of running. Life requires us to be in so many places at the same time, as a result, I want to hear about your needs and goals to custom tailor a plan that is right for you.

I am a Lifelong athlete and just Two sessions in with Andrew and cannot believe how little I actually knew about running and getting faster. Anyone who wants to improve, learn, and run better should book some time on the track with him!

Couch Andrew was very informative and very helpful with all of my questions.

My daughter has attended two coaching sessions with Coach Andrew and feels really good about her progress and all she is learning. It's obvious to me her love for running is improving. She even wanted to keep her training session with Coach Andrew in spite of the pouring down rain.

Coach Andrew is really good with my 14 year old daughter who plays competitive soccer. They worked on strength and conditioning which helped improve my daughter with her speed and power. He was very positive and I definitely would recommend Coach Andrew.

Coach Andrew is a great coach. I hired him for strength and conditioning and he knows how to push you!!! He has a good plan for anyone who is trying to better them selves .

Andrew works great with where you are according to your fitness level. Our first session was very encouraging and yet, challenging. Which was great!!!

Coach Andrew is encouraging and supportive. He has an enthusiasm for running!

I recently completed my first 10K after following a customized training plan from Andrew. I finished in under my goal time. The best thing was, I broke through a plateau I had been in with distance. I was finally able to complete 6-8 miles consistently and still have energy left over! He did a great job taking the numbers I sent him about my current runs and turning them into a training plan that took into consideration my current level of fitness and my goals. Andrew’s a great encourager with lots of experience to help runners at any level.
