More About Coach Alex
I coached/coaching at following institutions
Volunteer Assistant at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, CA from June 2016 to December 2016
Palomar College in San Marcos, CA from January 2017 to May 2017
San Diego Mesa College in San Diego, CA from January 2018 to June 2018
American River College in Sacramento, CA from June 2018 to Current
Produced 3 individual conference champions and 4 All-conference finishers and 1 All-State Womens javelin at the Junior College level where I had athletes transfer on to the 4-Year level. I have mentored a few HS athletes to League Championships and to CIF San Diego Section finals. Most recently at American River College, I developed multiple high performing athletes that have garnered the attention of D1 coaches. One example is a javelin I worked with for a year that ended up throwing far enough to receive a substantial scholarship at Cal St Fullerton.
I coach all ages. During summer, I work with HS level club athletes in hopes to help them qualify for the Junior Olympic National Championship. In my first summer of club coaching(2019), I had helped mentor a national runner-up in the girls hammer as well as producing 2 national qualifiers in the boys discus.
I am certified in multiple different programs. Currently, I am a USATF Level 2 Throws Coach as well as a USTFCCAA Throws Specialist/ Strength and Conditioning. While I am younger than most coaches, I bring a lot of knowledge that I have gained in my 6 years competing and 5 years coaching.
I have competed at the Junior College and NCAA D2 levels. I threw for San Joaquin Delta College for 2 years where I was All-State in the Hammer Throw. After, I threw 3 years for CSU Stanislaus in Turlock, CA where I was 4th in conference and NCAA Provisional Qualifier for the National Championship.
A session will typically start with a dynamic warm-up to prepare the athlete for practice. Then, we will do drills specific to the athlete. This means that I would focus on drills that will help with the athlete developing on a specific aspect about the event. After, we would do throws trying to put together what they have been working on in drills.

Coach Alex did a great job introducing the basics of throwing and then working with my son to improve his currrent technique. He did a great job and we will definitely use him more as the season goes on.
