A typical session that I run starts with a game of some sort to get the player mentally tuned in and ready for the work ahead. After this I move into a basic dynamic warmup using cones and agility ladders or hurdles. Next I always work on dribbling and footskills, ball striking technique and passing regardless of the player's position or ability level. After this, I incorporate footwork and handling into a few different drills to focus on quick feet and comfortability catching the ball. Next I move into basic diving to get the goalkeeper used to hitting the ground. After this, I move into a series of drills designed to work a specific skill that I have decided is important for a well rounded player. These skills include but are not limited to: angle work, crosses, 1v1s, power diving and shots from distance. If time permits, I like to finish the session with some distribution from feet or hands and some core work. I like to tailor my sessions specifically to the needs of the player that I am working with.

Client Reviews

Coach Alec put our son through a series of drills that helped him improve his footwork, agility, positioning in goal, and proper body and hand techniques for stopping shots on goal along the ground, and in the air. He uses the perfect blend of firmness and praise verbally to reinforce that his concepts are executed correctly. I highly recommend him to all aspiring young keepers.

Coach Alec has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He is extremely talented, a great motivator, and very flexible with scheduling and customizing lessons for our son's skill set and individual needs. We look forward to our next session. Thank you Coach!

I would absolutely recommend Coach Alec to anyone who is looking for a coach. My son is 12 years old and plays keeper but needs some coaching with proper keeper techniques. Coach Alec was great with him and gave us an honest assessment of my son's skillset during our first session, which was much appreciated. My son was very receptive to Coach Alec, really liked working with him and is looking forward to his next session. We are looking forward to watching our son grow with the knowledge and experience that Coach Alec can give him.

Coach Alec was awesome! He encouraged, corrected, and engaged my son throughout the lesson. I also really appreciated his professionalism in being on time and organized.

Coach Alec is awesome! He knows exactly what the kids needs and is an excellent teacher. My children learned so much in just one lesson. We feel thankful to have him.

Excellent with my daughter. Patient and willing to stay after it until she understood. Very happy dad and daughter!

My son loves working with Alex. He works him hard and he really enjoys it. He is also very responsive to email.

Coach Alec is an excellent coach. The session with my daughter was both productive and fun. She scored two goals the next day in her AYSO game! She can't wait for the next sessions!

Alec is a great coach. Not only did he help improve my cardio and endurance, ball handling, shooting and defending skills, but also my knowledge of the game. Because he is a goalie he had some great shooting drills. Additionally, his insights into reading an offender's body language really helped me think about defending in a new light.
