A typical goalkeeper session that I run starts with a game of some sort to get the player mentally tuned in and ready for the work ahead. After this I move into a basic dynamic warmup. After this, I incorporate footwork and handling into a few different drills to focus on quick feet and comfortability catching the ball. Next I move into basic diving to get the goalkeeper used to hitting the ground. After this, I move into a series of drills designed to work a specific skill that I have decided is important for a well rounded goalkeeper. These skills include but are not limited to: angle work, crosses, 1v1s, power diving and shots from distance. If time permits, I like to finish the session with some distribution from feet or hands and some core work. I like to tailor my sessions specifically to the needs of the goalkeeper that I am working with.

Client Reviews

Alec is a great coach. Not only did he help improve my cardio and endurance, ball handling, shooting and defending skills, but also my knowledge of the game. Because he is a goalie he had some great shooting drills. Additionally, his insights into reading an offender's body language really helped me think about defending in a new light.
