More About Coach Aaron
Hi, I am a highly motivated and dedicated Strength and Conditioning Coach and Movement Specialist, with experience and knowledge of what it takes to win at the highest level. I have proven success in improving athlete performance, and I'm passionate about helping athletes achieve their athletic goals. I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and I have a Master's Degree in Sports Performance and Conditioning from Southern Utah University.
I have vast experience with coaching athletes of all sports and levels, ranging from professional football and soccer players to high school and younger developing youth athletes. I am well versed in programming and implementation of movement and strength training. My training programs typically consist of all or some of the following athletic qualities: acceleration, agility, top-end speed, jump land, endurance, hypertrophy (muscle building), strength and power. I was the 40 yard dash specialist under Executive Sports Performance Director Ken Vick for Athletes First’s NFL Draft Class for several years, working with high caliber athletes such as Von Miller, Ryan Kerrigan, Shane Vareen, Nate Solder, Kyle Rudolf, Harrison Smith, and many more. I was also the lead assistant in off-season training for our NFL athletes at Velocity Sports Performance.
I would enjoy the opportunity to work with any athlete who is motivated to take their game to the next level.
I played Arena 2 Football for 3 years, ending my career on a high note by winning the Arena Cup National Championship with the Spokane Shock In 2009. In 2008, I earned 1st Team All Arena 2 Honors while accumulating 14 interceptions and leading my team to the Conference Championship. My college football years were spent playing at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where I earned multiple All-Conference defensive back honors.
A typical movement training session (speed, agility, etc.) will consist of an active dynamic warmup consisting of raising the core body temperature, dynamic movements, and dynamic stretching. The warmup is followed by teaching or reviewing the movement or skill of the session, doing movement drills, and practicing the movement in sport specific scenarios. I give very detailed feedback and coaching cues to help my athletes improve in every aspect of their athletic movements. Strength training also consists of an active dynamic warmup. The warmup is followed by teaching the correct form for resistance training movements, and working through the strength program with great effort and a great attitude. Movement and strength training sessions typically end with energy system development (conditioning). The type of conditioning varies depending on the athlete's sport, position, training goals, etc.
