More About Coach Carter
I have served as a coach at two Nike Cross Country camps at the University of San Diego, working with athletes ages 13 to 18. This camp is an intensive program aimed at providing prospective college athletes the opportunity to explore the realities of a collegiate cross country athlete.
I was a part of the NCAA Division 1 University of San Diego Men's Cross Country and Track program in 2018, 2021, and 2022. I then competed as a graduate transfer for one Cross Country season at Milligan University in Johnson City, TN in the fall of 2022. My PRs are as follows: 1:58 800m, 4:02 1500m, 15:40 5k, 26:08 8k (XC). Post-collegiately, I have competed in an Olympic Triathlon finishing in 2:26:02.
First, we will establish goals: a time for a distance, qualifying for a race, finishing a race, or even just establishing a new routine to motivate you out the door! Second, based on your goals, we will collaborate to find a training plan that is effective yet sustainable considering your lifestyle and training experience. Third, we will get to training! Depending on the day this will include a carefully crafted combination of warm-up drills, interval workouts, fartleks, tempo runs, long runs, recovery runs, core, hip stability/mobility, cool downs, and stretching.
